Tangihanga Grant - Information

Tauhara North No.2 Trust offers Tangihanga Grants to the value of $1500.00 (NZD) to all registered Owners, descendants, and whanau. Only one tangihanga grant per person who has passed will be granted.

The following criteria must be met in order to apply for a Tangihanga Grant:

Applicants must be over 18 years of age
Official confirmation of the deceased’s passing must be provided with the grant application; this could include their death notice, a letter from the hospital, or a confirmed invoice from a funeral home.
Each grant application must be submitted within 12 months of the deceased person’s passing.

The Tangihanga Grant is available for a registered whanau member who has passed away and may be applied for by a whanau representative of that person. Only one grant is paid towards the deceased tangi. Applications may be made within 12 months of the date of their passing.
