Employment Assistance Grant (International)

The Employment Assistance Grant is now open to Owners, descendants, and whānau (excluding spouses/partners) working around the world who would like to start or further their careers. This grant can help whānau already in employment complete studies equivalent to those offered by a NZQA-accredited provider, such as short courses, Pre-employment First Aid, and a welding ticket. For whānau already working or about to start a new job, this grant can be used to purchase work-related resources, i.e., tools, safety boots that your employer has recommended. Please note that your employer will be contacted to confirm all information provided.

For applicants who are looking for employment, this grant could be used to cover the costs of a course that helps you gain employment, but it cannot be used for work-related resources, as you are still job seeking.

*In terms of your study, please check our post-secondary grant criteria or contact our team, in case your course better fits an education grant instead. For whatever reason, if you are unable to finish your course of study, please let us know.

Applications may be made at any time prior to, during, or after the course, provided the application is received within the calendar year in which the course was undertaken.

Applicants may submit more than one application, up to a total of $550.00 (NZD) per calendar year.

NOTE: Please wait for the confirmation message after you Submit your application. You will also receive an email confirming that we have received your submission.
